For garment manufacturing, we recognize that the industry standard for underwear is extremely high (5,000+ pieces). Assuming base yarns are in stock, fabric sampling takes about 40-45 days, and bulk fabric production takes 60-70 days. For garments, sampling takes around 30 days, and bulk production takes 50-60 days. We strongly recommend initiating your seasonal development at least 6 months in advance.

It comes down to "yardage consumption." A single t-shirt requires a significant amount of fabric, whereas a pair of underwear uses very little. To consume a minimum viable production run of fabric, a higher number of garment units is required.
