This project is a flagship case in Chiayi City Government's effort to elevate the visual aesthetics of the public sector. To create an official vest that combined city identity with a sharp, professional image, the city government commissioned an external professional design team to plan the overall visual language and styling. However, there is a major technical gap between a flat design concept and a physical garment. To ensure the designers' creativity could be faithfully realized while giving the final product the practical functionality required for public service, Hermin joined the project as a textile technical consultant and manufacturing executor, enabling a seamless three-way collaboration among the client, the design side, and the manufacturing side.
During fabric development and selection, the design team wanted the vest to move away from the cheap, reflective plastic feel typical of traditional public-sector vests and instead present a restrained, premium texture. To achieve this, the Hermin team did not use standard market-available polyester, but precisely recommended a lightweight cotton-nylon blend fabric. This material cleverly combines cotton's naturally subtle matte hand and structure with nylon's lightweight and abrasion-resistant properties. At the same time, to meet the needs of outdoor activity and changing weather, we added an eco-friendly water-repellent finish to the fabric surface, giving the vest both fashion-like texture and practical protection.
Once mass production began, Hermin fully demonstrated its strong engineering execution. Working in close communication with the city government's design team, we translated every detail in the design drawings—from the construction of three-dimensional pockets and the selection of zipper hardware to the overall cutting silhouette—into production-ready apparel patterns with precision. Through our strict standardized quality control and manufacturing expertise, the final delivered garments perfectly bridged the gap between the design renderings and the physical product. This case proved that Hermin not only provides one-stop in-house development, but also serves as the most reliable partner behind major enterprises and independent design teams for turning concepts into reality.
