Clothing Manufacturers for Start-Ups

Custom Clothing Manufacturers for Startups

Starting a brand from scratch is a hassel, but we are here to help! We have worked closely with various start-up brands to help bring their collection into the market.
Below are some of the most common type of start-up brands we encounter.

1. Kickstarter/ Crowdfunding Brands:

These brands have a good idea on a specific type of fabric they want to create, but they need a partner to help execute their ideas. For example, they might wish cotton fabrics can be water repellent and stain repellent, or they wish their yoga fabrics can have anti odor and collagen properties. They normally start out by placing a trial order of a fabric we co-develop, and based on that trial they develop their prototype samples to get the crowd funding started. If there are any slight modifications required, we will make the adjustment when placing the bulk order. Some of our client’s unique selling point comes from patented design of constructing the clothes. In that case we sign NDA with our client, and help them make their garments come true. From our past experience, this is a very successful way to start off with your brand if you have a unique idea which you want to test the market.

2. KOL/Celebrity Brands:

Our client base include some KOL that want to start their own brand. They have a good client base but require assistance on fabric sourcing and product design. We have designers and pattern/sample makers in our team can plan their production for them. Top selling items are basic essentials such as t-shirts, hoodies, joggers, and basic pants and jackets. The reason is because the main reason they sell is their fans’ support, so we suggest keeping the product as simple as possible. Even if you are not that famous and want to give it a shot, we have readily available base qualities for t-shirts and hoodies, they have really low minimums for you to test the market.

3. E Commerce Brands

A portion of our clients are e-commerce brands, they require special fabrics at an affordable price. Keeping that in mind, we would suggest our client to focus on developing their own fabrics, at least 1000 yards per color, 3000 yards per order, to eliminate the surcharge of fabrics. A big trend is to use recycled or sustainable fabrics for their collection, but these will at least need to match our minimum quantity of 1000 yards per color, 3000 yards per order. These fabrics could be used across different styles, such as using bra top and legging with the same fabric. For each piece, we would also suggest at least 300-500 pieces per style to decrease the CMT. Taiwan being a super strong in functional athleisure products, we suggest focusing on yoga/knitted products, they have great value-added features, and also is price competitive compared to other countries. Another reason why we would athleisure products is because these products are easier to wear and are top-sellers on the e-commerce platform.

4. Fashion Collection Brand

We have also assisted fashion brand start-ups to build up their brand. They will require us to make the patterning and samples for them to go to trade shows to receive orders. Normally they will develop trial fabrics ahead of time, around 50-100 yards to make their prototype samples, and based on their preorders and anticipated sales, they will then place their bulk order. Our advantage in this sort of business model is that we are open to small trial orders of fabrics, and that we have patterning and sampling services to help make your samples to the tradeshow.
